IRIS received the United Nations Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Partnerships Awards 2024 under the Environment category during the Global Multi-Stakeholder SIDS Partnership Dialogue organized at the UN HQ in New York on 10 July 2024. The award recognises IRIS's innovative partnerships promoting sustainable development in SIDS through advocacy, funding, workshops and capacity building programmes focusing on disaster resilience of infrastructure systems"
At COP26, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) launched IRIS, an initiative to promote resilient, sustainable and inclusive infrastructure in SIDS.
To showcase the Coalition’s commitment towards achieving resilience prosperity in SIDS through climate and disaster resilient infrastructure
CDRI will be hosting a webinar and Q&A session for applicants introducing the IRIS Call for Proposals, themes covered and the application process.
CDRI with support from member countries, organizations and SIDS representatives launched IRIS at the World Leaders Summit at COP26.
The session will focus on presenting the contours of the Pacific approach for IRIS, based on the key takeaways that emerged from the Pacific consultation organized in Fiji in August 2022.
